The Manifesto Club is running a campaign, ‘No, Nein, Non’, taking on the elitism and bureaucratic mindset that characterises the EU. Politicians have dismissed the Irish ‘no’ vote as ignorant xenophobia, but can it be written off so easily? Club members will be carrying out a survey, ‘Attitudes towards Europe’, to explore what is behind public disgruntlement with European politics - and to see whether the ‘no’ vote could form the basis for a more positive politics in the future.
