For the first time, Foyles will run the festival bookshop, stocking books by festival speakers and others related to Battle of Ideas 2008 themes. Foyles on Charing Cross Road has an unparalleled range of books at its heart, with five floors of books on 56 specialist subjects, but now also features an art gallery, a café, Ray’s Jazz shop and a flourishing programme of author events. This year Foyles will host a Battle Satellite debate on Contemporary attitudes to aging and dying at the Charing Cross Road branch on Tuesday 28 October.
Foyles also has other shops at London’s Royal Festival Hall, St Pancras International and in Selfridges London’s Oxford Street and Manchester Trafford. Foyles will also be opening in Westfield White City in late October this year. In May 2008, Foyles won two awards at the 2008 British Book Industry Awards: Publishing News Chain Bookselling Company of the Year and Bowker UK Bookseller of the Year.
