Dr Yiyi Lu

Dr. Yiyi Lu is a Research Fellow at the China Policy Institute, University of Nottingham and an Associate Fellow at Chatham House. Dr. Lu’s research interest includes state-society relations, political participation, civil society development in China, China’s international image and soft power, and environmental governance in China. She is the author of Non-governmental Organisations in China: The Rise of Dependent Autonomy, Routledge, forthcoming October 2008 and a co-editor of Politics of Modern China: Critical Issues, Routledge, forthcoming October 2008.

Dr. Lu previously worked for several international development organisations in China, including the United Nations Development Fund for Women, the Ford Foundation, and Save the Children UK. She holds a PhD from the London School of Economics, an MA from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BSc from Peking University.
