Shaun Matisonn was born on 23 June 1972. He obtained a B.Sc degree in Mathematical Statistics and Actuarial Science from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa.

He was admitted as a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries, Edinburgh and a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa in 1996, and in 1997 as an Associate of the Society of Actuaries USA and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Shaun serves as the CEO of PruProtection (the Holding Company of PruHealth and PruProtect) and on the executive committee of Discovery Holdings. He has published papers on modeling health care reform, understanding various health care systems, focusing on the use of Medical Savings Account as a participant in Regina Herzlinger’s Consumer Driven Healthcare project as well as case studies for the Harvard Business School.

His interests are cycling, marathons and reading.
