Battle for Biomedicine

Biomedical research is one of the most exciting areas of modern science, and one with very practical implications for how we live, which means it is often a source of controversy. While everyone agrees that medical research is a good thing, do we trust researchers to share personal information about us for the benefit of science? One topical area of research is that into the effects of alcohol, but is the scientific evidence misused in public health campaigns? Are health concerns running away from sound science altogether, and is our obsession with ‘healthy living’ making us ill?
