Dr Dominic Standish

Dominic has lectured for the University of Iowa at its CIMBA campus in the Venice region of Italy since 1999.
Dominic’s book titled Venice in Environmental Peril? Myth and Reality, was published by UPA in the USA in 2012. He has also had chapters published in three books. Dominic has been published in the Wall Street Journal, the Economist’s ‘European Voice’, EU Reporter, the Guardian (UK), The Architect’s Journal (UK), Conscience (USA), Novo (Germany), Energy and Environment (UK) and numerous other journals, newspapers and websites. In addition, he wrote a monthly column for the Italy Daily section of the International Herald Tribune for two years and has written frequent features for the Italian news agency ANSA.
Dominic’s educational qualifications include:
• Ph.D in the sociology of risk at the University of Kent, UK
• Master of Arts (MA) in Education, Work and Training from Canterbury Christ Church University College, Kent, UK
• Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from Westminster College, University of Oxford, UK
• BA Honours Degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management and Sociology from the University of Kent, UK
He lives in the Venice region of Italy with his Italian wife and two sons.
