Carl Mortished is World Business Editor of The Times. He writes about industry, international trade, energy and commodities and contributes a weekly column, World Business Briefing which focuses on international business and political issues with a special focus on energy politics, the European Union and trade. Carl Mortished studied law and spent several years working in corporate finance department of a leading investment bank. After switching to journalism, he joined The Times in 1992 as a City Reporter and then edited the Tempus investment column.
