Matt Grist runs the Social Brain project at the RSA. Before that he was a Research Fellow in philosophy at the University of Essex. He is interested in how research into the behavioural sciences might inform social policy. He is also interested in certain areas of social policy more generally, primarily: the relations between autonomy, responsibility and social institutions and practices; the development and role of civic society; the relation between inequality and people’s capabilities; and the idea of ‘craft’ in professional practice. He has written a pamphlet that links together some of these interests: Changing the Subject - how new ways of thinking about human behaviour might change politics, policy and practice. |
