Ralph qualified to teach in 1987 and has taught the full Primary Age Range. Ralph is currently the Deputy Head Teacher of Cantrell Primary School, Bulwell in Nottingham. He is the Inclusions and Disabilities Officer for the school, and also co-ordinator for assessment, testing, reporting, recording and evaluation work. This includes being jointly responsible for monitoring and standards across school. Ralph represents the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) on SCETT and is a member of ATL’s Executive Committee. He has input into behaviour management, initial teacher training, Conditions of Employment issues, and is a member of ATL’s Policy Council. Ralph makes regular contributions to television, radio and newspapers and has been judging for The National Teaching Awards since 1999. He is a contributor to the forthcoming SCETT book, What is the Role of the Teacher Now? At local level he is the ATL Branch Secretary for Nottingham and is the point of contact for business conducted by the City of Nottingham. |
