Geoffrey White is a retired Barrister and the Mayor of a small town in England. He has been a frequent visitor to Greece for many years and has supported the case for the return of the Parthenon Sculptures to Greece since the address of former Greek Culture Minister Melina Mercouri to the Oxford Union in 1986. He is acquainted with many of the academic and political personalities involved in the “Elgin Marbles” debate, has attended international conferences on the subject and has made personal contributions in the British and Greek media. Mr White campaigns actively for the reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures in the New Acropolis Museum in Athens.
