Formerly Communications and Public Affairs Board Director at Jaguar Land Rover he led brand and product communications for both Jaguar and Land Rover. He had responsibility for corporate and employee communications, CSR and sustainability for the company. He has considerable breadth of experience both in the automotive industry and a range of communications roles. He brought a more strategic communications approach to Ford Motor Company’s luxury division, Premier Automotive Group, encompassing Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo. And before that held product and corporate communications positions at Ford’s European headquarters in Cologne, Germany, as well as leading Mazda Motor Corporation’s global communications team in Hiroshima, Japan.
Simon started his career in journalism in the early 1990s transitioning to Government press relations and publicity at the Home Office, Overseas Development Administration and City of Westminster Council and specialist crisis communications consultancy, before joining Ford in 1999. Born 1967, Warr studied Arabic and German at Leeds University and journalism at London’s City University, he is a Vice President of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and sat for two years on the West Midlands Regional Council of the Confederation of British Industry.
Simon now works independently providing senior strategic communications consultancy, interim management and corporate editorial support. He advises businesses in the automotive and public policy fields, lectures and conducts academic research, and works on a number of not for profit CSR and environmental programmes.
