Nils Spangenberg has worked as singer and Stage Director at the Vadstena Academy as well as The Royal Opera, Stockholm, Drottningholm Court Theatre, Norrlandsoperan, The Confidence, Värmland Opera and for the Swedish Public Television. He was Creative Designer of the Nobel Prize Banquet in 1995 and 1996. Nils Spangenberg has a special interest in contemporary opera. He has initiated and commissioned several new operas and has also cooperated as a librettist. He is the Artistic Director of the Vadstena Academy since 2001 and in 2009 he was also appointed as General Manager.
