Trevor Steele Taylor

Trevor Steele Taylor has been programming film festivals since the seventies, and one if his areas of expertise is South African cinema. He is currently director of the film programme for the Grahamstown Arts Festival and was the curator of the South African Season of film at the BFI this summer.

A graduate of the University of Cape Town in Philosophy and English Literature. Co-ran the seminal Cape Town art-house cinema The Labia in the seventies. Worked on film festivals such as The Cape Town International Film Festival and The Weekly Mail & Guardian Film Festival. Wrote reviews for The Mail & Guardian, The Cape Times and other publications. Has written an array of film scripts for projects unrealised and futuristic. Works closely with film director Cedric Sundstrom.
