Foyles Festival Bookshop 2011

Saturday 29 October, 10.30am until 6.00pm, Upper exhibition space

Foyles will once again run the festival bookshop, stocking books by festival speakers and other books related to the Battle of Ideas 2011 themes. As last year the expanded bookshop will include shelves to browse, seating areas to read in and author signings (look out for details at the festival).

Foyles is a Charing Cross Road institution, but in the last few years the entire shop has been refitted. It still has an unparalleled range of books at its heart, with five floor of books on 56 specialist subjects, but also features an art gallery, a café, Ray’s Jazz shop and a flourishing programme of author events. Foyles also has shops at Royal Festival Hall, St Pancras International, and Westfield London.

This year Foyles Charing Cross Road will host a Battle Satellite entitled Not in front of the children: are our kids oversexualised? on Tuesday 4 October and Dangerous books for boys? The literacy debate on Tuesday 11 October.

Can youth engagement save democracy?

"I loved the Battle of Ideas, which was mad, wild, and sparky. 2011 looks set to be even better."
