Iwan Morgan is Professor of US Studies and director of the US Presidency Centre at the Institute for the Study of the Americas, University of London.  He has been a Fulbright Exchange Lecturer at Indiana-Purdue University.  He is a regular commentator on US affairs for various media outlets and blogs on US debt issues for the History News Network.  He has published extensively in the fields of US Politics and Contemporary History, including five single-authored books, eight co-edited books, and numerous journal articles. 

A specialist in study of the presidency and of US economic policy, his books include:Beyond the Liberal Consensus; Deficit Government: Taxing and Spending in Modern America; Nixon; and Assessing George W. Bush’s Legacy: The Right Man? He is presently co-editing a volume entitled Remembering Watergate: The Legacy for American Politics. His book, The Age of Deficits: Presidents and Unbalanced Budgets from Jimmy Carter to George W. Bush won the American Politics Group’s Richard E. Neusatdt Prize in 2010.
