Stephanie Calman

Stephanie Calman is a writer and broadcaster whose many TV and radio appearances include the Today Programme and Have I Got News for You. She is the author of six books including the Top Ten bestseller Confessions of a Bad Mother, and founder of the website www.badmothersclub.com. Stephanie set up Bad Mothers Club to expose the increasingly absurd pressures being brought to bear on mothers by the evils of celebrity parents - ‘Motherhood is so fulfilling’, gushes the film star with two nannies – child-centred parenting which has led to adults feeling unable to set boundaries, and the various arms of the guilt lobby: ‘Daycare causes children to become shoplifters’. Early ‘news’ stories on BMC included ‘Mothers breathe too much air’, say experts and items on government initiatives banning ‘unsafe’ activities for pregnant women such as arguing. Also author of: Confessions of a Failed Grown Up; How (Not) to Murder Your Mother and How (Not) to Murder Your Husband.

She is still married to author Peter Grimsdale, with whom she has two children. Her interests include cooking, going to the cinema and lying down
