Professor Neil McKeganey

In 1994 Neil McKeganey set up the Centre for Drug Misuse Research at the University of Glasgow which ran to 2011 at which point it separated off from the University to function as an independent research group focussed on the drugs issue.

Neil is a sociologist by training and has conducted studies into the link between drugs and prostitution, the effectiveness of drug treatment services, the nature and impact of drug policy in the UK and the effectiveness of drug enforcement approaches. Neil’s latest book is Controversies in Drugs Policy and Practice.
