Matthew Collings has established a reputation for himself as an original commentator on both contemporary art and the art of the past. Author of books such as This is Modern Art, Blimey! From Bohemia to Britpop and This is Civilisation, he has also written and presented many TV documentary series, on subjects ranging from modern art (This is Modern Art, for Channel 4 won a Bafta)), to the Renaissance (Renaissance Revolution was on BBC2 last year).  He was a judge on the TV talent series, School of Saatchi (BBC2). In his writings Collings continues to addresses perennial and puzzling questions about art of all periods in a refreshingly clear and frequently humorous style.
