Steve Davies is Education Director at the Institute of Economic Affairs and Program Officer at the Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University in Virginia. A historian by training, he graduated from University of St Andrews in 1976 and later gained his PhD from the same institution (on the criminal justice system in Scotland before the abolition of heritable jurisdictions). He is the author of a number of books and articles including Empiricism and History and The Dictionary of Conservative and Libertarian Thought. As well as lecturing on many subjects around the world he has taught on world history, the history of crime and the history of the devil. He works in London and lives in Manchester and is a long-time follower of Manchester City. |
