Ghazi Gheblawi: An author, blogger and activist, born in Tripoli, Libya 1975, where he studied medicine. He has been living and working in the UK since 2002.

He co-founded and worked as the cultural editor for Libya Alyoum (Libya Today) online newspaper since 2004 until 2009 (www.libya-alyoum.com)

He continues to be active through his - award winning - cultural blog (Imtidad) focusing on cultural and social issues in Libya and the Arab world, and also founded and presented Imtidad cultural podcast, promoting Libyan and Arab culture, literature and arts.

Since the Arab revolutions began he has been active reporting the uprisings in the region using social media, especially in his home country Libya, gathering information and verifying reports from a group of Libyan activists inside and outside Libya, using Twitter (@gheblawi), Facebook, YouTube, and other social media channels.

He recently participated in a discussion panel on the Arab Spring (Dawn of New Arab World) part of the activities of The Oslo Freedom Forum 2011 (www.oslofreedomforum.com).
