Alan Miller

Alan D Miller is Chairman of the Night Time Industries Association (NTIA). The NTIA was formed to promote the benefits and enormous contribution of the Night Time Industries, the entrepreneurs that create and innovate across the UK contributing £66 Billion per year in revenue and boosting employment, regenerating and generally improving our cities. The NTIA provides a voice to challenge some of the problematic thinking hoisted on to UK entrepreneurs in policy and by local authorities - and to provide concrete alternatives. http://www.ntia.co.uk

The NTIA is a part of The Night Time Commission with The Mayor of London, and Alan sits on this as well as the London Music Board - the role of a Night Tsar for London is part of the changing nature of how authorities are understanding the enormous economic, cultural and social value of UK Nightlife. The campaign being run across Britain is #nightlifematters and The NTIA encourages everyone to sign the petition to local MP’s and councillors at http://nightlifematters.com/, and join the #SaveFabric campaign.

Alan was CEO of The Vibe Bar for almost 20 years, until November 2014. He is the co-founder of the Truman Brewery, a 10-acre site in London with over 200 companies, ranging from recording studios to art galleries, entertainment spaces, restaurants, bars, cafes, fashion and retail. It has helped regenerate a significant area of London, creating a new cultural quarter. Alan sat on The Arts Council’s London Arts Board for several years and now writes, directs and produces with his film partners in Argosy Pictures.

He ran The New York Salon in NYC for a decade, a forum for inter-disciplinary, open debate. Alan writes and comments both nationally and internationally across most media.
