![]() | Chris Binnie is an expert in water resources development, water supply, and flooding issues with experience in many countries. For nearly twenty years he was director for water consultancy at Atkins, one of the largest engineering consultancy firms in the world. He has been project manager or project director for many schemes in UK, Asia, and Africa with costs up to £600 million. Chris has lived and worked in about ten countries and has worked in another dozen. He is therefore knowledgeable about water in many parts of the world. Chris has written expert witness reports on water supply and on flooding and has given evidence as an expert witness many times to Parliamentary Committees, Planning Inquiries, Competition Commission, National Audit Office, and others. For some 30 years he was also licensed by the UK government to design any dam. He has designed a number of dams up to 70m high around the world. He directed studies on the Severn to Thames water transfer, the Trent to Essex transfer and others. He has studied and visited various reuse scheme. He has lectured and given evidence on water demand management at several Public Inquiries.
