John Bridcut
John Bridcut is an award-winning film-maker, who has specialised in psychological portraits of composers. He has just completed his new film about Benjamin Britten: Britten’s Endgame, which follows his 2004 film Britten’s Children, which explored the composer’s music for children, and his relationships with them. This was developed further in his book Britten’s Children. His more recent volume Essential Britten probed the nooks and crannies that other biographies tend to omit. Among the subjects of his film profiles have also been Sir Colin Davis, Edward Elgar, Frederick Delius, Mstislav Rostropovich, Hubert Parry, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Roald Dahl, Rudolf Nureyev and Hillary Clinton. |
