Malcolm Smith is an architect and the founding design director of Arup Urban Design, London. He joined Arup after completing his Masters degree in Architecture at Yale University, and working in Australia. Malcolm leads the design strategy on a wide range of urban design projects both in the United Kingdom and internationally that have sustainable place making at their core. He was appointed as an Arup Fellow in 2011. A selection of his projects includes: • Malcolm is invited to lecture around the world on contemporary urbanism. He was an invited advisor to the Vice President Al Gore and the Gore Foundation in Nashville, USA, and was invited to speak at the inaugural Global Humanitarian Forum, Geneva. He has an ongoing role for the city of Amsterdam as the head of design for the Zuidas District, which is the new commercial centre. |
