Dr John Milbank

John has taught at Virginia and Cambridge and is Chairman of Trustees of the ResPublica think-tank, an institution which seeks to ‘recover the language and practice of the common-good’ and develop practical solutions to socio-economic and cultural problems in the UK. He is author of the seminal Theology and Social Theory and is one of the editors of the influential Radical Orthodoxy collection of essays. The corresponding movement, which John co-founded, seeks to reject secularism in favour of a Christian philosophical paradigm. He has recent publications in The Oxford Journal of Law and Religion and the first volume of his new book Beyond Secular Order will appear with Wiley-Blackwell in December.
