Evan works in the exploration area of Statoil, the Norwegian oil and gas company, where he is responsible for business development. Previously he ran their advisory council - a group of senior professionals from the public and commercial sectors, who provide external advice and input to Statoil executives. Before joining Statoil he worked in a start-up company investing in Middle Eastern and African infrastructure and prior to that served in the Army for 17 years. During this time, in addition to roles in the UK, he also worked in the Balkans, West Africa and the Middle East.
