Tegengeluid

Tegengeluid is a digital newsletter in Dutch with links to the best unconventional opinion pieces on the Internet. It is a response to the conformism in modern debate, which ignores unusual questions and inconvenient answers. Tegengeluid is for anyone who dares to be provoked - and dares to provoke themselves.

‘I visited the Battle of Ideas Festival for the first time in 2011. I’ve been hooked since. In fact, I’m proud to have helped introduce the Battle of Ideas in Amsterdam. Every year, the Festival amazes me with such a fascinating programme. The organisers make sure that topics are relevant, that speakers offer surprising views, that moderators are well-prepared, and that the audience goes away with more than enough things to ponder. The only critique I have is that there are simply too many great sessions going on, so we know for sure that whatever we do, we’ve always missed something interesting! Every year, I make sure to mark the date so not to miss it. As a journalist, I come home with more than plenty of story ideas to keep me busy!’

Business bashing: should corporates 'care'?

"Five debates a day sounds a bit daunting beforehand, but I really loved it. The speakers are so knowledgeable and passionate about their chosen topic, and the amount of time dedicated to questions from the audience was great as it really brought in alternative views."
