Miguel Veiga-Pestana is responsible for driving global advocacy on key sustainability and business strategic priorities (climate change, deforestation, WASH, sustainable sourcing, nutrition, etc) to affect systemic, transformational change. As part of this he is responsible for leading Unilever’s engagement in the Post-2015 Sustainable Development (SDG) goals process. He is a member of Unilever’s Steering Committee for the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan. In addition, Miguel plays a leading role in developing strategic partnerships as well as managing Unilever’s engagement global external stakeholders. He supports Unilever’s CEO and other senior business leaders on their engagement global platforms such as the World Economic Forum (WEF), the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the Consumer Goods Forum, the UN Global Compact and the B-Team. Miguel first joined Unilever in November 2001 and has more than 25 years of communications and sustainability experience. He has previously held several external relations and/or public affairs positions in the UK, US and Brussels. .He is of Portuguese origin and lives in the UK with his wife and two daughters. |
