Paul has a PhD from York University Computer Science Department, has founded and managed two high technology start-ups and spent two years working for Advent Venture Partners, a leading UK venture capital company. More recently Paul was a Technology Fellow at BAE Systems Advanced Technology Centre where he was responsible for a range of technical capabilities including: Computational Engineering, Networks and Communications, Systems Engineering, Information Processing and Human Factors. During the last year, Paul has been Head of R&D at Network Rail, playing a key role in highlighting the importance of the R&D agenda in the Rail industry.
