Dr Sue Currell

Sue is the current Chair of the British Association for American Studies and a Reader in American Literature at Sussex University. Sue’s academic studies focus on the cultural history of early 20th century America and she has published on the history of eugenics in America, the culture of the Great Depression and America in the 1920s.

She is currently working on a history of a radical arts magazine, New Masses, which was produced in New York between 1926-48.
