Alex Maydew

Alex Maydew is a classically trained jazz pianist and singer/songwriter who is currently in his third year studying jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama under the tutelage of Malcolm Edmonstone, Martin Hathaway and Laura Roberts.  He started playing the piano at the age of six, passing Grade 8 aged 14. 

While in London he has played at the Barbican Centre, Vortex, Spice of Life, Pizza Express Jazz Club and many others.  He has the opportunity to perform with Cleo Laine, Alec and Jacqui Dankworth and members of Jazz at Lincoln Centre.  His influences include Keith Jarrett, Oscar Peterson and Tord Gustavson.  Alex currently performs with his own trio and separate band in London.
