Ruth Nicholls

Ruth Nicholls is Managing Director at Young Rewired State. YRS is a non-profit organisation which finds young people with an interest in computer programming and fosters a community by running events around the world. At YRS events young coders develop their digital skills by working together to build solutions which improve their communities. Since it started in 2009 YRS has advocated initiatives to give young people an opportunity to code, and share skills with their peers, whether inside or outside the school context.

Ruth has worked with Young Rewired State since 2010, initially managing their annual Festival of Code and then heading up fundraising and partnerships, before taking over as MD in August. She holds a BA in Law from the University of Cambridge, and whilst completing her degree researched and wrote about the regulation of online content, particularly pornography.
