Stuart Walton is a cultural historian, novelist and critic, author of A Natural History of Human Emotions, originally published in 2004, translated into several European languages, and shortly to be reissued as an ebook by Dean Street Press. His other works include Out Of It: A Cultural History of Intoxication and In The Realm of the Senses: A Materialist Theory of Seeing and Feeling. A writer also on food and drink, he is a major contributor to two of the UK’s annual restaurant guides, and a former chairman of the Circle of Wine Writers. He lives in an area once known as Torbay, now emotionally recast as the English Riviera.
