Ruth is programme leader for Education Studies in the College of Education at the University of Derby. She coordinates and directs the continuing development of the programme. As well as teaching several modules she supervises both postgraduate and doctoral students in education. Previously Ruth worked as an education researcher at the International Centre for Guidance Studies at the University of Derby where she undertook research into education, higher education and vocational education and training. Ruth is the main author of World-Class Apprenticeship Standards: Report and Recommendations a research report that was commissioned by Pearson Education. A book based on her PhD will be published next year, The Minoritisation of Higher Education Students. In her role as Executive Committee Member of the British Education Studies Association (BESA) she promotes the development of the subject nationally. |
