Leo Evans

As a pupil at Dalriada School in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland, Leo took part in the Debating Matters competition where he helped coach the team to the final of the National Final. In 2013 Leo moved to Liverpool where he soon became active with the Liberal Democrats, after he had previously been a local executive and Party Council member of the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland. In October 2014 Leo was selected to be the Parliamentary candidate for the Liberal Democrats in the former target seat of Liverpool Wavertree. Leo was the youngest Liberal Democrat outside of Scotland and was the youngest Liberal Democrat to keep his deposit in what was a brutal result for the Party. Alongside his campaigning Leo is a Politics student at the University of Liverpool where he is currently writing his dissertation on the impact of identity in creating a Shared Future in Northern Ireland.
