Dr Peter Kent has been headteacher of Lawrence Sheriff School in Rugby since 1999 (an 11-19 voluntary-aided school for boys with approximately 900 pupils, including a sixth from of 320). Lawrence Sheriff became a Teaching School in 2012 and also acts as the lead partner in ‘Leadership Live’, one of the four licensees delivering the National College’s leadership curriculum in the West Midlands.
Peter worked part-time for the National College for several years and was one of the team of authors who prepared their modules on Personalising Learning, Closing the Gap and reducing in-school variation.
He became ASCL President in September 2014, having been both Honorary Treasurer and chair of Professional Committee. He has written several data publications for ASCL, including guides to Raiseonline, Progress 8 and working with governors on data.
