Peter Taylor

Peter has covered terrorism and political violence for over 40 years - from the IRA to Al Qaeda to Islamic State -  in both television documentaries and themed TV series including Provos, Loyalists and Brits and Generation Jihad. In parallel has investigated the work of the intelligence services in response to the various threats.

He 2014 BAFTA Special Award for Factual Television and Royal Television Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award.  His other awards include RTS Journalist of the Year, two RTS Judges Awards plus three RTS Best Single Documentary awards, the Grierson award for Best Home Documentary and James Cameron Award.

Peter received an OBE for Services to Broadcast Journalism and Honourary Doctorate.from Bradford University’s Faculty of Peace Studies. 

He has written eight books on terrorism and political violence and one on the Politics of Tobacco. Most recent documentary is Panorama on Surveillance in the Post Snowden world.
