Leela Barrock

Leela Barrock is the group head – group communications & corporate affairs at Sime Darby. Her experience with the Group has ranged from developing the Group’s corporate responsibility function, providing strategic direction to Sime Darby’s corporate communications portfolio to managing the Group’s global stakeholder and investor relations engagements. Since 2014, she has lead the Secretariat for the Sustainable Palm Oil Manifesto - High Carbon Stock Study.

Prior to joining Sime Darby, Leela was a journalist for 14 years, commencing her career with a daily financial newspaper before moving on to join Malaysia’s leading financial investment weekly, The Edge. There, she covered media and regulatory developments in capital markets and corporate news – ranging from plantation and commodities to the auto sector.

Leela Barrock has an LLB (Hons) from the University of London and is admitted to the Bar of England and Wales.
