Dr Helen Jamison is Head of Media at the Wellcome Trust, a global charitable foundation dedicated to improving health.
She is also a Trustee of the Science Media Centre (an independent press office ensuring that the public has access to accurate information when science and health issues hit the headlines), and a Trustee of Compassion in Dying (a charity which provides information and support to those at the end of life).
She has written in The Times and the Independent about the importance of communication around death and dying, and she has worked at the science journal Nature. She has a PhD in neuroscience, and a degree in biomedical science.
