A Chartered Surveyor with over 25 years’ experience of regeneration in both public and private sectors, John worked on the Jubilee Line extension and the Excel exhibition centre project whilst at London Docklands. Then as a founder and director of Complex Development Projects Ltd, delivered a range of award-winning, mixed-use regeneration projects.
After leaving CDP in 2008, John advised Hammersmith & Fulham Council on the Earls Court redevelopment project and continues to advise clients on planning and development projects of all shapes and sizes.
John also worked on Lord Heseltine’s review of regeneration policy, and advised shadow ministers before the 2010 General Election. In 2009, he jointly authored, Principles for Social Housing Reform with Stephen Greenhalgh and has written extensively on housing policy for Conservative Home.
John was elected as a Councillor in the London Borough of Waltham Forest in 2012 and most recently, chaired an expert panel which oversaw the production of the Centre for Social Justice paper, Home Improvements.
