Professor Matthew Kieran

Matthew Kieran is Professor of Philosophy and the Arts at the University of Leeds. He was nominated for the THES Young Academic of the Year Awards in 2005 and was recently elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Matthew’s work ranges over creativity, art, psychology and ethics. He is the author of many articles and books such as Revealing Art (2005) which has been translated into various languages including Chinese and Korean.

He has given the invited public lecture at the National Icelandic Visual Arts Awards, the Charles Parodi Lecture, International Miami Basel Arts Fair, run workshops at Tate Britain, spoken at festivals and appeared on television and radio.

Matthew grew up in England and Jamaica and presently lives in Leeds and East London.
