Dolly Alderton

Dolly is a journalist, writer and director. She writes features on love, dating, sex, friendship, women’s issues, social trends, fashion and travel for a range of magazines and newspapers such as Grazia, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Red, The Sunday Times and the Telegraph. Since January 2015, she has written a weekly dating column for The Sunday Times Style, alongside Cosmo Landesman. She also co-hosts Style’s weekly podcast, The Pandolly podcast, with Pandora Sykes. In 2014, she won runner-up in the Telegraph’s Cassandra Jardine Memorial Prize for young women journalists with her piece on her love of Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs.
As well as working in journalism, she writes and directs for TV and film. She story produced series 2-5 of E4’s BAFTA-winning Made in Chelsea. She also story produced T4’s Summer Daze and worked as the script assistant on the final series of Channel 4’s Fresh Meat.
In 2015, Anna, Island, a short film she co-wrote and co-directed with Lauren Bensted was accepted to The London Short Film Festival. She and Bensted are currently working on a web series together.
