Dr Alan Peters
principal technologist - automated transport systems, Transport Systems Catapult

Alan is a systems engineer with experience working in the automotive, transport and nuclear industries. Specialising in the design and assurance of complex and novel systems particularly autonomous vehicles. Alan has worked on a number of autonomous vehicle projects including the Heathrow Airport Personal Rapid Transit system and ‘towards autonomous’ projects for Jaguar Land Rover.

He is currently principal technologist within Automated Transport Systems Business Unit at the Transport Systems Catapult in Milton Keynes, specialising in systems engineering and functional safety. As well as this, Alan is safety manager for LUTZ Pathfinder autonomous vehicles project, associate member of the Centre for Connected & Autonomous Vehicles (C-CAV), with responsibility for mapping the CAV standards landscape, and TSC technical lead within FLOURISH project – Innovate UK funded CAV project based in Bristol.
