Professor Selwyn Cudjoe
professor of Africana studies, Wellesley College

Professor Cudjoe is a professor of Africana Studies at Wellesley College, Wellesley, MA. He was born in Trinidad, West Indies, and studied at St. John’s, Fordham and Cornell Universities where he received his Ph.D in American Studies. He has taught at Fordham, Ohio, Cornell, Harvard and Wellesley College. He has written for the New York Times, the Boston Globe, New Left Review, Harvard Educational Review, Trinidad Express and the Trinidad Guardian. He has received grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities (USA) and American Council of Learned Societies. He has also been a director of the Trinidad and Tobago Central Bank.
