Professor Eduardo Côrte-Real

Eduardo Côrte-Real is a Professor of Visual Culture, Design and Drawing, and holds a PhD in Architecture and Visual Communication. He has authored books on Design, Architecture and Drawing and several book chapters, papers and articles on Visual Culture and Material Culture. Eduardo has also co-organized and participated in multiple international conferences and co-curated exhibitions in those areas.

Since 1999 he has taught at IADE-U’s Design School where he also works as researcher and was president of the Scientific Board and coordinator of the PhD of Design and the MA in Design and Visual Culture programs. He was also member of the Design Research Society Council and CUMULUS Executive Board.

He is the editor in chief of the online journal The (Radical) Designist - ThRAD, http://unidcom.iade.pt/radicaldesignist/ and author of blog The Smooth Blog to Travel Drawing, https://eduardocortereal.wordpress.com. He has been arguing that we live in hyper-contemporary times, a new human age of dispersion and regression.
