At engaging cogs we find ways to explore how society thinks about engineering. We are excited to be producing ‘Moving into the future?’ in collaboration with the Battle of Ideas. There are important questions about what engineering can and can’t do for our mobility: its convenience, speed, efficiency, energy use, and where we should set our aspirations. This is a discussion which needs to involve both professional engineers and the general public. The Battle of Ideas has proved itself to be excellent at creating a high level of debate amongst both experts and the public; we can’t wait to be a part of it.
