Alex Gourevitch

Alex Gourevitch, a member of NY Salon, is a researcher in political science at Columbia University. He graduated magna cum laude and phi beta kappa from Harvard University, after which he spent a year at Oxford on the Knox fellowship. He is currently pursuing a PhD in political science at Columbia. Before entering graduate school, he spent a year working as a writing fellow for the American Prospect, where he wrote articles on immigration, civil liberties, foreign policy, and US domestic politics. One article he published, on US efforts to control the media in Iraq, was selected for Censored 2005’s ‘Top 25 Censored News Stories’. He has also been published in journals on a range of issues, from DDT to terrorism, in the Washington Monthly, Novo and spiked. He is currently an editor of the anti-war on terror website, Against the War on Terror, and is the co-convenor of the international relations working group Sovereignty and Its Discontents.
