Born 1946 and educated at Christ’s College, Finchley and Leeds University, graduating with an honours degree in Commerce in 1968.

Fourth generation fruit marketer with forty seven years experience in the fresh produce industry. Chairman, since 2007 of the Poupart Group of Companies, Chairman of British Summer Fruits, the UK Crop association for soft fruit since 2003. Non-Executive director of G’s Chilled Foods, The Shropshire Farming Group, Grace Foods UK and Reynolds Catering Services . 

Master of the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers in 2000, Justice of the Peace 1982-2007,  Leader in Residence at Leeds University Business School since 2014. Chairman City Food Lecture 2000-14. Outside interests include Real tennis, cricket, golf,  skiing, film, theatre, opera,  gardening, and travel. Member of the MCC since 1972.
