She has also been a columnist and features writer for the Guardian, the Observer and the Independent on Sunday, and was named Interviewer of the Year at the British Press Awards in 2009. She has been a regular contributor to discussion programmes on BBC1 and BBC2, and Radio 4 and 5 Live, and wrote a travel book, The Promised Land, published by Fourth Estate. She is a politics and history graduate from Manchester University, and lives in London with her partner and their two young sons. |
