Scott Pepe

At 19 years of age, Scott may not seem like the typical face of British Monarchism. None the less he has appeared on BBC News, Canadian television, and been published in the Sunday newspapers. He was a national finalist at the Academy of Ideas Debating Matters competition in 2010 and now studies at the University of Exeter.  He passionately believes in keeping politicians away from the job of Head of State and believes it is the Royalist, not the Republican movement that has the support of, and trust in the people.

Engineering the future: cautionary tale or utopia?

"I thought the Battle of Ideas was wonderful. Especially the extent and quality of audience participation. I can't imagine how I missed this exciting forum for exchange of ideas in the past. I will certainly not miss another one and look forward already to 2012 Battle of Ideas."
Professor Marilyn Monk, emeritus professor of molecular embryology, University College London
